Premier: 2025 May 23rd at Balettakademien Göteborg

This work is based on one of the Japanese theatrical techniques called "MITATE" and mixes the puppeteer's technique with the dancer's body. The project has been growing since 2022 with ongoing research and the addition of new artists each time. This is not one complete work, but rather artists from different genres, each representing a factor in our society, and with the change of performers, a completely different relationship emerges. Because it is the meeting of these different styles that is the recreation of our everyday life. How can we weave each other? We work together to create a common language, while identifying the characteristics of our co-stars. The work created in this way is our experience itself.

In this time I have invited the Balettakademien D3 for this journey. We will create a new work with 10 dancers under the concept of Transforming Perspectives.

The title of the work: “AMANEKU”. In old Japanese, it means “wide" or “universal”, also "Commonplace"

SKUMITATE -ärvda relationer byter skepnad-

This project is should not be seen as a completed work.

The artistic process is kept alive by inviting new participants with other skills and expressions – a reflection of society at large where relationships are inherited and at the same time transformed.

SKUMITATE -ärvda relationer byter skepnad- gives body to what we cannot yet see, or fully understand, but feel.

The title of the work, "SEBONE," means spine in Japanese. It also means the nucleus or skeleton of a structure.

Neither the person nor the work would be possible without the spine. This work is the very process of searching for something that is the nucleus of existence.

This work is research for a collaboration between tap dance and puppeteering scheduled for 2023 - 2024.

"Gnugga"

“Gnugga” - A visualization of strain and friction.

Flexible painting and dancers on stage.

The interlocking patterns are a metaphor for the ideal, and as they are moved and distorted, they evoke the gap between ideal and reality. Like our memories, which are a mixture of fact and fiction.
